Jonathon Manning is an attorney with the Law Office of Richard Schmidt and makes his home in Canton, Texas.
Jonathon graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy. He then attended Texas Wesleyan School of Law on scholarship. There he was selected to be a part of the Public Service Law Fellowship, interning at the Dallas County Public Defender’s Office. Jonathon enjoyed competing in mock trial and alternative dispute resolution competitions across the nation as well as being the Chairman of the Alternative Dispute Resolution committee for the Board of Advocates. Prior to being licensed, Jonathon interned in the juvenile and criminal divisions of the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office as well as the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office. Jonathon received his Juris Doctorate degree from Texas A&M School of Law and has been licensed to practice law in the State of Texas since 2015.
Jonathon previously worked in public service as an Assistant District Attorney for Van Zandt County. During his tenure, Jonathon managed a high-volume caseload working through the ranks and handling every level of criminal offense, from Class C Misdemeanors to First Degree Felony. He managed cases through the entire process of the justice system from intake to appeal, allowing a thorough understanding of the of the justice system to enable him to zealously and effectively advocate for good people who find themselves caught up in the system.
